Meet The Team

We employ a well-qualified and friendly team of childcare educators that are all DBS checked and offer knowledge and experience in childcare, education, child protection and first aid.

Our diverse team ensures that we have a vast array of knowledge within the specialist areas of the Nursery and its setting, ensuring the children have the best possible stimulation and experiences in a safe and secure environment.

Sophia Covill – Nursery Manager

Sophia is responsible for the management of Meadow Lane Children’s Nursery and oversees all aspects of the day to day and ongoing operations of the Nursery. She is passionate about children’s play and how this enhances the development of their education, she has a great understanding of the EYFS curriculum and has over 7 years of experience working within an Early Years environment. Sophia was first inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach whilst teaching in a school in Dubai and believes in the importance of self-directed play and how this helps children to learn and to develop socially.

Stevie Lomas – Deputy Nursery Manager

Stevie is our Deputy managers who is responsible for the management and administration at Meadow Lane Children’s Nursery.  As well a dedicated staff member Stevie is a mum of her wonderful young boy. Stevie believes in valuing each child as an individual and has a passion for creating an environment that will support and guide children to build on their confidence and independence. Stevie has gained her extended knowledge on the EYFS throughout her 8 years of working with children gaining her foundation degree in childhood, education and play qualification. She has a Level 6 BA Honors degree in Early childhood. Stevie is passionate about play and it being a significant part of a child’s development and that the outdoors has a great role within this, Stevie believes that “there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing” even for the youngest of our children.

Jenny Oldham – Deputy Manager/Lead Educational Co-ordinator

Jenny is the Deputy Manager alongside her Lead Educational Co-ordinator role supporting Educators throughout the setting, giving support to all rooms in line with the Early Years Statutory Framework. She is a positive, enthusiastic role model for the children and Educators, always smiling and coming up with new creative ideas to support classrooms within the setting. She is passionate about child-led play and the importance for children to have the freedom to play and explore. She has worked in childcare for 6 years and has gained a level 4 advanced practitioner qualification. Jenny enjoys working in a team creating a stimulating environment and since joining Meadow Lane has become passionate about learning in the outdoors.

Sadie Williams – SEN and EYF Admin

Sadie works in the Office 3 days a week as SEN/EYF admin. Sadie is Lead Admin in the setting organising the bookings, enquires, finance and admin within the setting. She is a first time Mum and mainly has experience of working in an office environment, however has previously done some volunteering at Castle School in Cambridge working with SEN children. She has a passion for supporting children with special needs and equality and is excited to learn to be part of the Meadow Lane Team!

Anne Bullough – Horticultural Manager/Atelierista

H/ A/ AC/ FS/ BCP/ FA/ SI/ DBS

Anne is our Nursery Horticultural Manager, she oversees the horticultural planning, preparation, maintenance, planting and harvesting at the nursery and works with the children allowing them to join in the daily care of our growing areas, including digging, planting, watering and harvesting. Anne also runs the atelier where children take part in exploring different forms of art. Anne is a professional Horticulturist and a mum of two, with over 7 years working with children and families. She believes that all children need to have access to quality outdoor spaces and an environment that encourages exploration of the natural world and that fosters curiosity, confidence and an appetite for learning.

Jess Charman – Daisy Educational Co-ordinator

Jess is one of our Educational Co-ordinators in the Daisy room. Jess is a level 3 qualified practitioner with 7 years of experience. Over the years, Jess has acquired a number of other qualifications. She has worked in a range of settings from a nursery to a primary school. Jess enjoys messy play and has a love for forest school, believing that there is only bad clothing, not bad weather. A new area of interest for Jess is sensory play and loose parts. As well as a professional background with childcare, Jess also has a young son with whom explores new environments and experiences, especially if involving animals as it is a love they both share.

Dani Welton – Daisy Educational Co-ordinator

Dani is one of our Educational Co-ordinators in the Daisy room. Dani has been qualified with her level 3 in childcare for 7 years and has 4 years experience. Dani believes that all children learn through play in their own ways and at their own pace. Dani also believes that outdoor play allows children to express themselves and learn in different ways. Dani enjoys socialising outside of work and enjoys photography.

Sasha Brooks – Daisy Nursery Educator

Sasha is currently working towards her level 3 in Childcare at Meadow Lane. She has been working with children for 3 years in home environments and now Meadow Lane. She loves getting creative and enjoys all sorts of messy play! She is very passionate about child-led play and likes learning about the Reggio approach.

Elizabeth Brown – Daisy Nursery Educator

Elizabeth is level 3 qualified in childcare with 4 years childcare experience, she also works in an afternoon school club on an RAF base. Elizabeth believes in a hands on approach and enjoys getting involved in messy play with the children. Her hobbies include horse riding this is shown through caring for animals and getting the children involved with looking after the animals at the nursery.

Nicole Clark – Daffodil Educational Co-ordinator

Nicole has a level 3 childcare national diploma and has worked with children of all ages. She has also worked with young children with special educational needs. Nicole enjoys learning more about the Reggio Emilia approach and enjoys researching activity and provocations to help the children’s development. Nicole enjoys the outside environment and is also currently studying towards her Level 3 forest school award.

Helen English – Daffodil Nursery Educator

Helen is level 3 qualified with 20 years of experience of working with children in various nursery and Preschool environments. The Reggio Emilia approach used at Meadow Lane sits with Helen’s belief that children develops at their own pace, and given the tools and freedom to explore they become their own best teacher. Helen also has 2 daughters and they enjoy long country walks, visiting castles and traveling.

Grace Johnson – Daffodil Nursery Educator

Grace has been with Meadow Lane since 2019 and is very keen to learn the Reggio approach. Grace studied art at school and wants to continue this here at Meadow Lane Children’s Nursery. In her spare time, she supports her mum with children’s party events. Grace is very excited to bring creativity to the nursery and get involved in all the wonderful activities we have. Grace is passionate about learning in the outdoor environment and giving the children the freedom to run around and explore.

Leah Bavister – Daffodil Nursery Educator

Leah has been working in early years for the last 4 years and is currently studying for her degree in Early Years and Education. Leah is passionate about the Reggio approach an is excited to implement this is her practice. She also believes that children should have the freedom to explore in their own ways, using their natural curiosity and taking risks.

Ledja McDonald – Daffodil Nursery Educator

Ledja is Level 3 qualified, and originally from Albania. Ledja has over 7 years experience with working alongside children in the early years. Ledja enjoys creating provocations that include lots of experimenting with textures. Ledja was brought up alongside the Reggio Emilia environment and believes in the ethos of child lead learning. Ledja also has a little boy who attends preschool who she enjoys spending time with going for nature walks and visiting local wildlife parks.

Beth McIntyre – Daffodil Nursery Educator

Beth has recently joined us at Meadow Lane Children’s Nursery to develop her experience with working children and to bring her love and knowledge of animals to the children’s development within the setting. Beth has grown up on a farms and enjoys being outdoors and can not wait to share this with the children. 

Emily Hudson – Dandelion Educational Co-ordinator

Emily is our Educational Co-ordinator for the Dandelion room. Emily has been working in early years for the last 2 years and had qualified in her Ba Hons in educational studies.  Emily the nursery and spending time is all rooms. Emily loves to explore the importance of learning throughout all environments and strongly believes children are active learners and thrive with hands on experiences and learning. She hopes to bring her love of singing, dancing and musical theater to Meadow Lane.

Giulia De-Nunzio – Dandelion Educational Co-ordination

Giulia has a level 3 diploma in childcare and education. Giulia started with us as a student volunteer in November 2017 and was such a credit to the team that she became an employee and nursery educational Coordinator. Giulia is keen to implement and bring her learning into the setting and is passionate about the child-led Reggio Emilia approach.

Katrina Drinkwater – Dandelion Nursery Educator

Katrina loves the outdoors and the animals and believes every child follows their own learning path, and with the right environment and guidance every learning opportunity is possible. Katrina is aspiring to complete her Level 3 in childcare and is interested to explore and implement the Reggio approach. Katrina believes that “Children must be taught how to think not what to think” – (Margaret Mead)

Chloe Jacklin – Dandelion Nursery Educator

Chloe is one of nursery educator who has experience in early years, she is looking forward to completing her Level 3 in childcare with us. Chloe has a keen interest in the Reggio approach and can’t wait to have a hands on experience with the animals.

Claire Vickery – Dahlia Nursery Educational Co-ordinator

Claire is level 3 qualified and has worked with children throughout the Early Years. Claire enjoys spending time outside in the natural environment and watching children show their wonder around about the world in their learning. Claire enjoys spending time with her family exploring nature.

Abbie Parker – Dahlia Nursery Educator

Abbie is level 3 qualified in early years and has been here for 3 years building her knowledge on the reggio approach. She is very passionate on child led play being a very big impact on the childrens learning and development. In her spare time she loves doing all things outdoors. Abbie enjoys outdoor activities in her spare time and believes outdoor space is a huge benefit to children and their learning and development. Abbie is excited to implement what she has learnt through practice and progress her interest in the Reggio Emilia approach here at Meadow Lane Children’s Nursery.

Molly Corney – Dahlia Nursery Educator

Molly is level 3 qualified in Health and Social Care, Molly has always had a big passion for working with children. She has three younger siblings that she adores and loves spending time with. Molly is very outgoing and loves the Reggio Approach, Following the childrens interest is something she has always loved as she believes it helps the children grow into beautiful individuals. 

Kristina Warner – Dahlia Nursery Educator

Meet Kristina, who works in our Dahlia Room. She is a qualified Level 3 Early Years Educators with over 10 years of Childcare experience and over 3 years of working in a lead role with toddlers and Preschool Children. She is originally from Croatia, but she also lived in Italy as a child; which has made her very passionate about languages and teaching EAL. In her spare time she enjoys painting, reading, playing the ukulele and going on Nature walks.

Demi Fox – Dahlia Nursery Educator

Demi is one of our Nursery Educators in the Dahlia room, she really enjoys being in the outdoors and has a hobby of playing football in her spare time. Demi is looking forward to learning more about child led play and the Reggio Emilia approach. 

Angela McGarry – Kitchen Manager and Gardener

Angela is our on site cook and kitchen manager, she works with the team and the children to develop seasonal menus and dishes throughout the year. Angela is a keen baker and gardener and has a wonderful passion for creative food. She believes that having children involved in the growing, preparing and cooking of food allows them to develop their excitement and respect for healthy nutritious food. Angela has extensive experience in catering and feels that getting children involved in the kitchen has great potential to influence food preferences for nutritious and delicious foods.

Louise Halliday – Kitchen Assistant

EYN/ BCP/ SI/ DBS/

Louise works alongside Angela providing seasonal menus and delicious meals. Louise is keen to get the children involved with the preparation of meals alongside serving and setting up for meal times. Louise enjoys getting her hands dirty alongside the children in preparation for growing and picking our homegrown fruit and vegetables, and believes children take wonder from where food comes from which is shown during cooking activities.

Linda Ruddy – Kitchen Assistant

Linda has worked in Kitchens for over 30 years, she likes being outside and pottering about in the gardens. Linda has a keen interests in recycling and using Eco Friendly products in the setting as well as at home. Linda loves sharing these experiences with the children and having impromptu conversations with them about anything from growing fruit and vegetables to how something was made. She also enjoys providing those hands on cooking experiences in our Kitchen Cafe that give the children involvement in making food for themselves and their friends.

Poppy Dunmore – Nursery Educator

Poppy is currently studying BTEC Level 3 health and social care at CRC. This is the start of her journey to become a paediatric nurse. She is very interested in children’s development and how their learning environment makes a big difference in their development. She enjoys being outdoors and playing football! She feels it is important to teach children to be active and have an interest in sports. Poppy also enjoys the caring side of looking after children which is equally as important as their development.

Eloise McHugh – Nursery Educator

Eloise is currently studying health and social care at college, helping to build towards becoming a pediatric nurse. Eloise has always been around children and finds it rewarding to work with the little ones. She enjoys the uniqueness of conversations that can be had with children and enjoys exploring imaginative play. Her hobbies include dancing from musical theatre to ballet.

Caroline Covill – Nursery Assistant

Caroline supports the team in the day to day running of the Nursery, she spends time with the children during lunch covers and is involved with activities that need additional support. Caroline is dedicated to making children’s learning fun and playful

Sophie Ashurst-Brown – Nursery Assistant

Sophie supports the teams throughout the nursery. She spends time helping the staff create ideas for provocations and new learning opportunities. Sophie is currently studying uniform services at college and enjoys doing sport activities in her spare time.
