Sophia Covill

Nursery Manager

Sophia is responsible for the management of Meadow Lane Children’s Nursery and oversees all aspects of the day to day and ongoing operations of the Nursery. She is passionate about children’s play and how this enhances the development of their education, she has a great understanding of the EYFS curriculum and has over 7 years of experience working within an Early Years environment. Sophia was first inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach whilst teaching in a school in Dubai and believes in the importance of self-directed play and how this helps children to learn and to develop socially.

Stevie Lomas

Deputy Nursery Manager

Stevie is our Deputy managers who is responsible for the management and administration at Meadow Lane Children’s Nursery. As well a dedicated staff member Stevie is a mum of two wonderful young boys. Stevie believes in valuing each child as an individual and has a passion for creating an environment that will support and guide children to build on their confidence and independence. Stevie has gained her extended knowledge on the EYFS throughout her 11 years of working with children gaining her foundation degree in childhood, education and play qualification. She has a Level 6 BA Honors degree in Early childhood. Stevie is passionate about play and it being a significant part of a child’s development and that the outdoors has a great role within this, Stevie believes that “there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing” even for the youngest of our children.

Jenny Oldham

Deputy Manager

Jenny is the Deputy Manager alongside her Lead Educational Co-ordinator role supporting Educators throughout the setting, giving support to all rooms in line with the Early Years Statutory Framework. She is a positive, enthusiastic role model for the children and Educators, always smiling and coming up with new creative ideas to support classrooms within the setting. She is passionate about child-led play and the importance for children to have the freedom to play and explore. She has worked in childcare for 6 years and has gained a level 4 advanced practitioner qualification. Jenny enjoys working in a team creating a stimulating environment and since joining Meadow Lane has become passionate about learning in the outdoors.

Anne Bullough

Educational Co-ordinator / Atelierista

Anne is our Nursery Horticultural Manager, she oversees the horticultural planning, preparation, maintenance, planting and harvesting at the nursery and works with the children allowing them to join in the daily care of our growing areas, including digging, planting, watering and harvesting. Anne also runs the atelier where children take part in exploring different forms of art. Anne is a professional Horticulturist and a mum of two, with over 7 years working with children and families. She believes that all children need to have access to quality outdoor spaces and an environment that encourages exploration of the natural world and that fosters curiosity, confidence and an appetite for learning.

Sadie Williams

SEN and EYF Admin

Sadie works in the Office 3 days a week as an EYF admin. Sadie is Lead Admin in the setting organising the bookings, enquires, finance and admin within the setting. She is a first time Mum and mainly has experience of working in an office environment, however has previously done some volunteering at Castle School in Cambridge working with SEN children. She has a passion for supporting children with special needs and equality and is excited to learn to be part of the Meadow Lane Team!

Nicole Clark

Educational Co-ordinator / SENCo / Forest School Leader

Nicole has a level 3 childcare national diploma and has worked with children of all ages. She has also worked with young children with special educational needs. Nicole enjoys learning more about the Reggio Emilia approach and enjoys researching activity and provocations to help the children’s development. Nicole enjoys the outside environment and is also currently studying towards her Level 3 forest school award.

Ledja McDonald

Educational Co-ordinator / Woodwork Co-ordinator

Ledja is level 3 qualified and has over 10 years experience of working in early years. Ledja is originally from Albania and was bought up in a Reggio Emilia environment. Ledja enjoys creating new experiences and privations for the children by creating her own resources with a variety of materials. Ledja shares this passion across the nursery, helping other staff and the children create their own resources based on their individual interests. Ledja has her own little boy and together they like to go for walks exploring the local area and wildlife.

Helen English

Educational Co-ordinator / ENCo

Helen is level 3 qualified with 20 years of experience of working with children in various nursery and Preschool environments. The Reggio Emilia approach used at Meadow Lane sits with Helen’s belief that children develops at their own pace, and given the tools and freedom to explore they become their own best teacher. Helen also has 2 daughters and they enjoy long country walks, visiting castles and traveling.

Beth McIntyre

Beth has been in the nursery for a year and a half. She loves sharing her experiences outdoors as well as sharing her knowledge of animals. Beth grew up on a farm, she enjoys talking about and sharing the different experiences that the children can have outdoors. She also likes listening to music and enjoys dancing. Beth loves group time were she can share the love for music with the children. Beth likes going for long walks with her dog at the weekend and spending time with her family.

Leah Lambert

Leah has level 3 health and social care and has always had a passion for working with children. Leah enjoys working with all age ranges and watching the children grow into their own personalities. Leah likes the Reggio Emilia approach as it enables children to explore and develop through curiosity and risk to become their own individuals. Leah enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends.

Abbey Cain

I have my level 3 Health and social Care diploma and have previous experience working with young children with special educational needs.
I enjoy painting, nail art, music and long walks with my dogs! I’m passionate about the Reggio Emilia approach, allowing children to grow their curiosity at their own pace. I also believe we can learn from the children just as much as they learn from us.

Jess Charman

Jess is one of our Educational Co-ordinators in the Daisy room. Jess is a level 3 qualified practitioner with 7 years of experience. Over the years, Jess has acquired a number of other qualifications. She has worked in a range of settings from a nursery to a primary school. Jess enjoys messy play and has a love for forest school, believing that there is only bad clothing, not bad weather. A new area of interest for Jess is sensory play and loose parts. As well as a professional background with childcare, Jess also has a young son with whom explores new environments and experiences, especially if involving animals as it is a love they both share.

Dani Welton

Dani is one of our Educational Co-ordinators in the Daisy room. Dani has been qualified with her level 3 in childcare for 7 years and has 4 years experience. Dani believes that all children learn through play in their own ways and at their own pace. Dani also believes that outdoor play allows children to express themselves and learn in different ways. Dani enjoys socialising outside of work and enjoys photography.

Charlotte Lilley

Educational Coordinator/Language and Physical Development Coordinator for the under 2s.

Charlotte has recently started working in our Daisy Classroom as a Key-worker at Meadow Lane. Charlotte has a Level 3 qualification in childcare and has worked in other local nursery’s previously. Charlotte has her own child in the setting and enjoys creating memories with him outside of nursery as well as horse riding and spending time on her family farm. Charlotte enjoys being outdoors, being creative and has a love for animal which she is excited to bring to Meadow Lane.

Giulia De-Nunzio

Giulia has a level 3 diploma in childcare and education. Giulia started with us as a student volunteer in November 2017 and was such a credit to the team that she became an employee and nursery educational Coordinator. Giulia is keen to implement and bring her learning into the setting and is passionate about the child-led Reggio Emilia approach.

Kaia Harris

Kaia is in her third year of a Primary Education degree at Anglia Rustin University. Kaia was born in Kenya and has moved around a lot. Kaia has a love for ballet, art and creativity and comes from a family of artists, passionate about sustainability. Kaia is currently doing her dissertation on effective environmental and sustainability in education.

Having worked in Special Education for over 10 years I am now excited to join Meadow Lane as a Nursery Educator in the Dandelion Room. I am enjoying getting to experience the Reggio Emilia approach as I agree that every child is filled with potential and develop at their own pace with the right guidance. I am joined at nursery by my daughter Chloe who is in the Dahlia Room and together we are loving exploring the new setting and making new friends

Molly Corney

Molly is level 3 qualified in Health and Social Care, Molly has always had a big passion for working with children. She has three younger siblings that she adores and loves spending time with. Molly is very outgoing and loves the Reggio Approach, Following the childrens interest is something she has always loved as she believes it helps the children grow into beautiful individuals.

Holly Hunter

Holly supports the teams throughout the nursery. She is passionate towards natural play and child-led learning to build children’s independence, self-esteem and confidence. After learning about the theory and benefits of forest school, she enjoys putting it into practice and watching the children blossom in nature. Holly enjoys learning alongside the children removing the pressure so they can naturally develop and learn at their own pace. Holly has a Level 7 MA degree in Childhood Studies, specialising in forest schools, children’s emotional wellbeing and creativity. And a Level 6 BA degree in Criminology with her research including children’s rights and the Child Protection System. Holly has a passion and enjoys travelling, spirituality, zumba and anything creative!

Holly Montague

Holly has recently joined the Daisy Room at Meadow Lane. Holly is Level 3 qualified and has 15 years experience working with children, including as a nanny for several families in Cambridgeshire. Holly believes in a child-led approach with children being given the chance to express themselves and learn through their own experiences. Holly has recently completed a level 2 qualification in children’s mental health and has an interested in learning more about the Reggio Emilia approach while working at the setting. Holly enjoys spending lots of time outdoors with her 3 year old daughter who has also started at Meadow Lane.

Kaitlyn Hardy

Kaitlyn has just completed her level 3 in Childcare and Education Diploma. Kaitlyn has worked with all ages including reception ages and have been at Meadow Lane for 2 years. She loves the Reggio Emilia approach and how it gives the children creativity and freedom within their play. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, she has always had a big family and grown up with lots of little ones around. Kaitlyn is really looking forward to joining Meadow Lane full time and bringing with her her love for singing and art.

Pas has recently joined Meadow Lane working in our Dahlia Room. Pas has a background in illustration and a passion for drawing with children. He believes in the Reggio approach and that given the right environment and guidance that every child has the potential to use their imagination, and become natural problem solvers.

Maya is one of our nursery educators in the Daisy room. She has studied child development and health and social care. Maya enjoys the messy aspects of play; she’ll always be the first in a muddy puddle! Maya’s big passion is travelling and exploring new places, and sharing these experiences with others.

Sara Drummy

Sara has joined the Dandelion room at Meadow Lane. Sara has been working in the childcare almost 30 years and her experience ranges from childminding to wrap around care. She has a level 3 in pre school practice and has held designated person roles in previous jobs. Sara has 3 grown up children of her own and loves the great outdoors and all things nature. Sara loves finding treasures when exploring forests and beaches and uses her finds to be creative. She believes in listening to children interests and using this to encourage child-led learning, Sara is really looking forward to getting outside with the Dandelion children, finding some bugs and getting really messy.

Nicole has recently joined Meadow Lane in our Daisy room, Nicole has 8 and half years child care experience. During her time in childcare she has loved experiencing different art means and can’t wait to bring her ideas and passion to Meadow Lane, playing around with paint is always a favourite, alongside other crafts and reading.

Tara Wilson

Tara has been working in America for the past 6 summers with children in a summer camp. Tara has a passion for travel and has been fortunate to have been to many countries. Australia and Greece being her favourites. Tara is excited to start her new career path at Meadow Lane, bringing her love for the outdoors and creating new learning experiences for the children.

Molly Forster

Molly is one of our apprentices who has recently joined Meadow Lane. Molly is currently studying her Level 2 Early Years Practitioner, and looks to progress eventually to be a primary school teacher. Outside of college and work Molly attends scouts and enjoys spending time outside exploring nature, which she is excited to enjoy with the children at Meadow Lane.

Matt Hall

Farm and Garden co-ordinator

Matt is excited to be joining the team at Meadow Lane. Matts job is to look after the animals and grounds of the setting. Matt has come from a long career at Huntingdonshire District Council working as a Ranger at Paxton Pits Nature Reserve. Throughout his time there he learned a huge amount about nature and ecology but his real love is for farming and forest schools. Along with his experience in rural work, Matt has a degree in education and his Forest School leaders award so he hopes he can tie his knowledge of both together to enhance the farm experience for all our little ones at Meadow Lane.

Outside of work Matt is very much a family man and has 4 boys between himself and his wife, Emily. He has always encouraged his boys to be outside and explore the natural world. Matt and his boys particularly like to go fishing together whenever they can.

 

Cat Howlett

Cat has been working in childcare for 4 years and has recently acquired her level 3 childcare qualification. In her spare time she enjoys baking and aerial fitness. Cat loves working with all ages of children and is excited to be in a nursery setting that explores the Reggio Emilia philosophy.

Libby Cox

Libby is a Nursery Educator, supporting all ages at Meadow Lane. Libby will work closely with Anne to support children in their creative development. Libby has four daughters, all now grown and a huge love for art, Gardening, reading…anything from Harry Potter to Voltaire. Walking, pottery, knitting and sewing, cookery and music. Libby has many years experience working with children and studied Fine Art at the University of Suffolk. Libby “really enjoys the endless joy that children find in everything, from a simple daisy, a crayon line or the crunch of uncooked pasta. I love how art for them is an open activity, all about the process and not an end result”. Libby cannot wait to support the children as they explore is the endless joy that art brings and is looking forward to those magic moments where you don’t want to break the spell of their creation.

Katie Gathercole

Katie has worked as a Youth Theatre Director and Workshop Facilitator for over 3 years, and is thrilled to be bringing her experiences of working with, and fostering creativity and curiosity in children, to Meadow Lane Nursery. In her spare time, she enjoys dance and aerial silks, and is also a regular theatre-goer.

Reese Mobius

Reese loves working with children and has a particular passion for supporting children with additional needs. Alongside working at Meadow Lane she is a respite carer for a family who are really important to her and have grown to be like family. Reese has worked with and taught all age ranges, coming from previously teaching swimming and being a 1:1 SEN support. Reese is excited to be apart of Meadow Lane following the Reggio Emilia approach which allows a safe, exciting way to experience and learn things with no pressure. Outside of Meadow Lane she loves to keep busy, trying out new restaurants and exploring with her little dog Daisy.

Josie Atherton

Josie holds a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education. Josie has always enjoyed working with children of all ages, she is a positive person and feels that can reflect on the children she is around. In Josie’s last role she worked in a school over lunch time working with children from age 4 to 11 years old. She is thrilled and excited to join Meadow Lane and is looking forward to getting stuck into the Reggio Emilia approach. “Our task regarding creativity, is to help children climb their own mountains as high as possible”. Josie believes every child is unique and should have the opportunity to shine! Josie is a mother of two amazing children and has 3 step children, she loves spending time with her family being outdoors and walking her dogs.

Sophie supports the teams throughout the nursery. She spends time helping the staff create ideas for provocations and new learning opportunities. Sophie is currently studying uniform services at college and enjoys doing sport activities in her spare time.

Ashleigh Beeton

Ashleigh has joined our Daffodil Team at Meadow Lane. Ashleigh has previous experience of working in a nursery and has a passion for performing arts, Ashleigh has done this personally since she was a little girl and has trained professionally for several years. Ashleigh is very interested in the Reggio Emilia approach and she is excited to contribute to building the children’s confidence, self esteem and character building. Ashleigh is a big reader and enjoys doing this in the sunshine and going on holidays. Ashleigh is excited to get started at Meadow Lane and be apart of the children learning alongside the animals in a natural environment.

Angelica works in our Daffodil Classroom, she is currently studying a level 3 nannying course and has a huge love for working in childcare, excited to start her carer at Meadow Lane. Angelica enjoys reading and has a love for yoga and pilates.

Louise Halliday

Kitchen Assistant

Louise works alongside Angela providing seasonal menus and delicious meals. Louise is keen to get the children involved with the preparation of meals alongside serving and setting up for meal times. Louise enjoys getting her hands dirty alongside the children in preparation for growing and picking our homegrown fruit and vegetables, and believes children take wonder from where food comes from which is shown during cooking activities.

Linda Ruddy

Kitchen Assistant

Linda has worked in Kitchens for over 30 years, she likes being outside and pottering about in the gardens. Linda has a keen interests in recycling and using Eco Friendly products in the setting as well as at home. Linda loves sharing these experiences with the children and having impromptu conversations with them about anything from growing fruit and vegetables to how something was made. She also enjoys providing those hands on cooking experiences in our Kitchen Cafe that give the children involvement in making food for themselves and their friends.

Caroline Covill

Caroline supports the team in the day to day running of the Nursery, she spends time with the children during lunch covers and is involved with activities that need additional support. Caroline is dedicated to making children’s learning fun and playful
